MacBook Air 15 (M3) in 2026: the laptop to recommend to almost anyone

Here is why the 15-inch M3 Air is still so easy to recommend. It is silent because it has no fan, it lasts a full working day and then some, and the keyboard and trackpad are still some of the best on any laptop. It also supports Apple Intelligence and the latest macOS, so it is not a dead end. Why the 15-inch size is worth it The bigger screen makes a real difference if you work with two windows side by side, edit spreadsheets or watch a lot of video. It also has six speakers instead of four, and they sound fuller than the 13-inch model. It is still thin and weighs about 1.5 kg, so it fits in most bags. If you carry your laptop everywhere every day, the 13-inch Air is easier. If it mostly moves between a desk and the couch, the 15-inch is the nicer machine to use. M3 15-inch vs M4 and M5 15-inch The M4 15-inch Air (2025) added 16GB as standard, a better 12MP Center Stage webcam and a lower launch price. The M5 15-inch Air (2026) is faster again, starts with 512GB of storage and adds Wi-Fi 7. The M3 model is only the right choice when it is clearly cheaper. At a good discount, it gives you nearly the same everyday experience. When to spend more Only if you need sustained heavy performance that will not slow down, like long video exports, or the MacBook Pro’s brighter 120Hz screen and extra ports.
