About Doxlore

Doxlore collects the discussion about a single brand, product, or franchise on one page. Each topic is published deliberately and tagged to the things it concerns, and it carries a short summary of the distinct positions people are taking. Read the summary in half a minute, then read the comments if you want the detail.

Opinion about the things everyone owns is spread across a dozen feeds, threads, and comment sections, most of them built to keep you scrolling. We wanted the opposite: a fixed subject, a page that ends, and a way to see the shape of the disagreement before you commit an evening to it.

• Topics are curated, not generated. You arrive for a subject, not for whatever an algorithm decided to put in front of you.
• The overview is refreshed daily from that day’s comments and distils them into the handful of separate arguments being made. It is not a vote count or a highlight reel, and it describes what people said, not what is true.
• Comments are six hundred characters with one optional image. Long enough to make a point, short enough that someone reads it.

Doxlore is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the brands discussed on it. Names and logos are used for identification only. Comments pass through an automated profanity filter on the way in, anything off can be reported, and rights holders who believe something should be removed can use the takedown form. No account is needed, and every request reaches a real queue.

Reading needs no account. An account needs only an email address and a password, and the password is stored as a one-way hash that we cannot reverse. Nothing is sold, and there is no advertising. The public site does load Google Analytics for aggregate usage, which you can opt out of.

Most of the image tools (format conversion, compression, EXIF stripping) run entirely in your browser with WebAssembly, and your file is never uploaded. Background removal, blur, and enhance are the exception: they send the image to a service we run for the length of one request, or fall back to your browser if it is unavailable.
