The Steam Deck OLED’s screen is gorgeous and the whole thing is designed to be played, not managed. Why power users pick the Ally X The ROG Ally X has a brighter 120Hz screen, meaningfully more horsepower, a much bigger battery than the original Ally, and full Windows, which means Game Pass, the Epic and EA stores, emulators and mod tools with no friction. On a tight budget, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 14 Well-built, comfortable keyboard, dependable, and cheap. Nothing flashy, nothing wrong with it. The verdict: Air if you can, Zenbook if you want Windows value, OmniBook X for battery, IdeaPad if money is tight.

The Claw 8 AI+ is the finished product: a Core Ultra 200V chip with strong Arc graphics, an 80 Wh battery, and an 8-inch 120Hz screen. It trades blows with the ROG Ally X and often lasts longer on a charge. The Intel bonus XeSS upscaling support is native and effective, and Intel’s driver cadence has improved sharply. This is the first Intel handheld that belongs in the conversation. Our score: 7.5 / 10 It goes big on everything The Legion Go has the largest, highest-resolution screen of the Windows handhelds, an 8.8-inch QHD+ 144Hz panel, plus controllers that pop off, and an "FPS mode" that stands the right controller vertically as a mouse. It is the most feature-packed device in the category. The weight of ambition It is large and heavy for long sessions, and all those features add complexity. If the screen size and modular controllers genuinely appeal, it delivers. If you want something pocketable, look at the Deck or a smaller Ally.
