If you own a 12, the base camera is not a reason to upgrade. The lens system is new The HB-series lenses (an ultra-wide, a macro, ND filters, an anamorphic) turn a fixed-lens action cam into something more flexible. If you push a GoPro creatively rather than just strapping it to a helmet, that is the reason to look.
